Pivotal Med – Level 1 & 2 (Two-Day Course)
Be Your Own First Responder
Overview:
The Pivotal Med two-day training program is designed to build lifesaving medical skills through hands-on learning, critical thinking, and realistic application. Whether you’re a firearms owner, instructor, parent, teacher, or first responder, this course gives you the confidence and capability to act when seconds matter most.
Day 1 – Pivotal Med 1: Foundations of Life-Saving Care
Day one focuses on the essential principles of trauma care in both everyday and high-stress environments. Students will learn how to assess and manage life-threatening injuries using the M.A.R.C.H. protocol (Massive bleeding, Airway, Respiration, Circulation, Hypothermia/Head injury). Training includes instruction and hands-on practice with modern medical gear—such as tourniquets, chest seals, pressure dressings, and airway adjuncts—while emphasizing mindset, scene safety, and communication.
Topics Include:
-
Situational awareness and scene safety
-
The M.A.R.C.H. assessment process
-
Bleeding control: tourniquets, packing, and pressure techniques
-
Airway management and respiratory trauma
-
Treating shock and preventing hypothermia
-
Building and staging your personal medical kit
Day 2 – Pivotal Med 2: Real-World Scenarios and Team Response
Day two builds directly on the skills from Day 1, pushing students to apply what they’ve learned in dynamic, scenario-based exercises. Participants will respond to realistic trauma simulations designed to test decision-making, teamwork, and communication under stress. Each scenario reinforces the importance of calm, effective action in unpredictable environments.
Training Focus:
-
Realistic trauma scenarios and stress inoculation
-
Team-based casualty response
-
Managing multiple patients and prioritizing care
